This inscription says that the portrait represents Sebastiana Ynés Josepha de San Agustín, the 16-year-old-daughter of Mathías Alexo Martinez and Thomasa de Dios y Mendiola. Documents reveal that her father was a governor and that she entered a special convent for indigenous women of high social status.
